Using either option will estimate patient portions quickly and accurately for treatment planning and displaying the amount to collect from the patient per visit. You can use the capitation plan utilization report with either option for in-house management and monthly submission to the carrier. However, the options differ in their presentation of fees and the reports available for management.
If you do capitation business with more than one company, you can determine which option to use on a carrier-by-carrier basis. For all plans under the same company, however, use the same option for best results.
